Frequently asked questions
Is it better to hire a car with a driver in Ghana?
For most first-time visitors, yes. A local chauffeur knows Accra traffic, routes and parking, and usually costs only a little more per day than self-drive once fuel and stress are factored in.
How do I book an airport transfer in Ghana?
Choose an operator offering airport transfers, send an enquiry with your flight number and arrival time, and confirm the meeting point and price in writing before you fly.
What does Verified mean?
Verified operators have had business registration, Ghana Card ID of the owner, insurance and fleet photos checked by our team. It is not a guarantee, so always follow our anti-scam guide.
How long is the drive from Accra (Kotoka) International Airport to central Accra?
Typically 20 to 60 minutes depending on destination and traffic. Evenings and Friday afternoons are busiest.
Will the driver wait if my flight is delayed?
Most operators track flights. Share your flight number in your enquiry and confirm their waiting-time policy.
Do I pay through GhanaCarHire?
Not at the moment. You agree terms and pay the operator directly. Always follow our anti-scam checklist.
Which currencies can I pay in?
Most operators accept Ghana cedis, including Mobile Money (MoMo), and many also accept US dollars, pounds or euros by transfer. Confirm the currency in your quote.
