Kwahu Easter: Dates, Paragliding and Getting There by Car
Quick answer: Easter 2027 runs from Good Friday 26 March to Easter Monday 29 March 2027. Both are public holidays in Ghana, as listed in the University of Ghana 2026/2027 calendar. The dates of the 2027 Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival hadn't been announced when we checked. In 2026 it ran from 3 to 6 April, over the Easter weekend. Book a car or a driver early: the Ghana Tourism Authority says the festival draws thousands of visitors to Kwahu.
What happens at Kwahu over Easter
Kwahu, in the Eastern Region, fills with visitors over Easter. The Ghana News Agency reported that the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) hosted the 2026 Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival at the Odweanoma Mountains from 3 to 6 April 2026, with tandem flights, aerial displays and tourism exhibitions. The GTA statement also listed street carnivals in several towns, concerts, cultural performances and food bazaars across the Kwahu area during the Easter period. Getting to Kwahu by car

- Leave early on Thursday or Friday. Easter traffic out of Accra is heavy.
