University Reopening in Ghana: Dates and Moving Students by Car or Bus
Quick answer: for 2026/2027 the University of Ghana reopened on 19 October 2026 (lectures from 26 October) and its students report for the second semester on 11–14 March 2027. KNUST freshers reported on 15 October and continuing students on 17 October 2026. UCC level 100 students reopened on 26 September 2026. Graphic Online reported that UG's reopening had first been set for 12 October 2026 and was delayed by a strike by university administrators. Some UG professional schools, such as Law and Medicine, keep their own calendars.
Moving a student and their luggage
- One student with a trunk and bags: a saloon or SUV with a driver usually works. Ask about boot space when you book.
- Several students or a family: a van or minibus with a driver can take everyone in one trip. See bus and minibus hire.
